Family Photoshoot at home in Shenfield
Breakfast Time
When I arrived Albie was in his Pyjamas playing games on the floor with his Daddy. The family then had breakfast together around their kitchen table. It was styled beautiful by Megan. One of Megan’s concerns, was that because Albie operates at 1 million miles per hour, she wouldn’t get any photographs of him showing how affectionate he can be. So I was really pleased to capture some lovely intimate shots of him showing his affection to his parents. When my own son was Albie’s age he had luscious curly locks. As a parent, I know how special Albie’s curls are. Before Megan and Ben know it, his precious curls will have disappeared. So, I paid attention to capture these in the family photoshoot at home in Shenfield.
After breakfast Albie spent time playing with his Elf on the shelf pretending to be a doctor and involving his parents in his make believe play. It was so warming to witness his caring personality.
Albie’s Bedroom
Next we spent time in his bedroom, first playing with his Brio train set before getting dressed. My favourite photographs from the session are of Albie in his nappy on his bed mesmerised by his favourite teddy Pluto. I hope that when he grows up the photographs of him at home, will remind him of his happy childhood. After playing more games in his bedroom we went downstairs.
The Christmas Tree
Megan and Ben’s Christmas tree was something of a piece of art. Being Christmas time, I wanted to incorporate it into the shoot. We spent time looking at it and re-arranging some baubles. I then took the opportunity to get a head shot of Albie in front of the tree, my intention was to get the fairy lights in the background and a cheeky grin. Albie’s white jumper blonde hair and the white styled tree made for the most perfect headshot to capture Albie’s 2 year old self most perfectly.
I loved every bit of this shoot and returning to this wonderful family. I can’t wait to see them again, for another family photoshoot at home in Shenfield.
